Marö

About

Marö is a New York based artist with European roots. Originally trained in the classical figurative painting and focusing on oil on canvas she began her artistic career with travel, visiting world famous museums and copying the old masters. As she was developing her own style she started deviating from figurative painting toward the abstract, developing her own visual language that incorporates her European heritage, western values and an eclectic mix of contemporary influences.

My inspiration is rooted in humanity; the perilous state of the environment; our interaction with each other and the world; the way we change it as it changes us. I am curious as to how the rearticulation of well-known images or themes can have a changed impact on my contemporaries. I wonder how our lives will be impacted by the introduction of the A.I. and where will it leave us in a long run. I believe that everything is connected and while it might be not obvious the connection between my viewer and me exists even without my art. With my paintings and sculpture I am trying to make that connection stronger.
